UAE summers are tough on perfume. Heat makes fragrance evaporate faster, and heavy scents that feel cosy in winter can become overwhelming at 45°C. The answer is to choose fresh scents in stronger concentrations, and to apply them the right way.
How to make perfume last longer in the heat
- Choose Eau de Parfum over Eau de Toilette where possible. The higher concentration lasts longer on skin.
- Moisturise first. Fragrance fades faster on dry skin, and air-conditioning dries skin out.
- Spray clothes and hair too. Fabric and hair hold scent for longer than skin. A hair mist is made for this.
- Don't rub your wrists. It breaks down the top notes faster.
- Never store perfume in your car. Heat and sunlight damage fragrance. Keep bottles in a cool, dark cupboard.
- Carry a travel size for a midday refresh.
